FAQ's

Some questions are aimed specifically to those people participating in our pub league only.

It should be obvious which of these questions are relevant to you.

How does the league work?

Seasons run for a period of four weeks where weekly games will be played.

During these games, points are earned and entered into the league table which will be displayed on our website.

Please see scoring for more information on how points are earned.

At the end of the season there will be numerous people displayed in the league that are above the red line, which is the top 25%

These players have all qualified for the freeroll final and will be listed on the invitations page the day before the freeroll is to take place.

Players can qualify in two ways.
1) Be above the red line in a venue's league
2) Be above the red line in the "all venue's" league

Players can play at multiple venues to increase their chances of qualifying in the "all venue's" league as their total accumulated points over all venues will be displayed in this league.

Winning players in the freeroll final will win entry into a scheduled Fortune Poker tournament or their buyin to their local casino if playing in the pub.

Are there any charges at all?

Pub: No! It's free to play each week. The freeroll is free to play and if you win a seat at the casino your entry fee will be paid for you. You really can win £1,000's without paying a penny.
Online: Not from us. The only fee you will be charged is the standard house fee that all online casinos charge when entering their tournaments.

Is there a minimum amount me and my friends have to bet in our league games to participate in the online poker league?

Yes. Your weekly games are required to be a minimum of €10+1.

What am I paying €10+1 for? (online only)

The private tournaments you create will require a buy in of €10+1.
The €10 is what goes in to the pot. The €1 is the house fee that Fortune Poker and all online poker sites charge.
The €10's collected will be paid out amongst the winning players according to Fortune Poker's payout structures.

Can I play in multiple teams?

Absolutely. If it's the same group of friends and you want to play 3 times a week simply contact us and we will set you up with three different leagues.

How do I know if I've qualified?

Visit the invitations page and select your region. Your name will be displayed here if you have qualified. This page will be up to date 3 days before your freeroll is to take place. Alternatively, if all tournaments from the current season have been uploaded and you see your name above the red line in your venue's/team's league you can be sure you have qualified. If you are not, but you are above the red line in the 'all venues' league you will have to wait for all other team's to upload their results before we can confirm your invite.

How much do you give away at the freeroll?

Pub: We give away £100 total amongst winning players.
Online: €10 league - We put our winning players into numerous tournaments. Please see payouts for more information.

If I win, which tournaments can I enter?

Pub: The payout structure in the pub league has changed since we first began. Feel free to keep hold of the cash and spend it on anything you wish. If you would like to play in a larger tournament we recommend looking at Fortune Poker. It has some fantastic tournaments to take part in.
Online: Please see payouts for more information.

What happens if I finish in the top 25% of more than one venue/team?

A place in the freeroll will be offered to another player that has finished just outside of the qualifying positions. This player will be chosen by looking at all of the venues you have qualified in and taking the player with the highest score(s) through to the freeroll.

If you have qualified in three venues, two players with the highest scores will be invited to the freeroll.

How long does the weekly tournament last?

Pub: The tournament will usually run between 2-3 hours.
Online: This is dependant upon the number of participants.
10 players approx 1 hour
30 players approx 2 hours

How long will the freeroll last?

This is highly dependant on the number of players that have qualified. However, it is likely to run for about the same time as your weekly tournaments. This could rise should we have a particularly large number of participants.

Will I have to deal?

Pub:Each player takes turns to deal but if you are not confident another player may deal for you.
Online: Of course not, this is all automatic.

Will I be able to smoke?

There will be breaks during each tournament giving players the opportunity to go outside for a cigarette or replenish their drinks.

What if I'm busy the day of the freeroll?

The date for the freeroll final is strict and can not be changed. You will forfeit your place if you are unable to make it on this date. Your place will not be offered to anybody else.
